Have you ever thought of turning conventional wisdom topsy-turvy and, instead of working your outfit around your shoes or dress, build it around your scarf instead? When I bestowed the scarf in these pictures with the role of protagonist rather than just accessory, my scarf pulled it off rather well.
I’ve been unwittingly looking for an oversized, striped scarf ever since I saw this one (that had already sold out) last year. I finally found a dream substitute that in my view even trumps the original. The colours are just perfect. I believe the scarf looks best with a simple outfit in camel, nude or brown tones, without bells and whistles. Don’t try knocking the protagonist off its throne.
This scarf is, in contrast with its happy owner, a multitasking heroine. With its oversized shape and colour block stripes, it adds a dose of insouciance and texture. Worn over a warm coat, it can act as an extra winter weapon in frosty temperatures but, worn with a sweater (as in these pictures), it can provide the cosy feeling of being all bundled up even if the temperatures don’t feel anything like winter. It can be folded and twisted into countless styles or do double duty as a wrap-yourself-in-it blanket. Or what about using it in a hotel, just to cover one of those pictures hotel managers all over the world seem to adore (an excellent idea by Bali Barret, artistic director at Hermes)? I’d love to hear how you’d use it.

My favorite thing about this time of year is getting to wear scarves. Love how you styled the outfit around the accessory. ~ Christa

A wonderful 2016 to you too!
I love oversized scarves. As you say they are more than just accessories. I like to use them as blankets in the cinema or when I’m sitting on the sofa at a friend’s house ;)

Yes, they do double duty as style factor and cosyness element :)
I adore the style of your pictures. You really look great in anything you wear. Even a scarf!!

Thank you. Have a great weekend!
I find that I always think of a main or star piece for whatever outfit I intend to wear. So it could be a sweater, pants, scarf, shoes, bag whatever!
I really like this scarf. It’s one of those ones I probably wouldn’t have thought to buy if I looked at in store. I like that you paired it with the mint bag and browns. The pairing with the mint bag kind of makes you look like candy lmao

I agree with what you say about the candy colours. I have to admit I’ve got quite a weakness for soft colours (you seem to have uncovered my weakness!) :)
You look gorgeous, loved the scarf

I like the idea of your scarf as a multitasking heroine. The only problem is that there are just too many ugly paintings in hotel rooms. But never mind, as long as the scarf gives you that irresistible touch life is worth living.
