I’ve always had a crush on capes. I bought my first one almost five years ago and have worn it, day in day out, until it started to pill. I love how a cape can change up any look (dress, skirt, skinny jeans …) and, as a bonus, add that subtle superhero billow that makes me feel just a little more invincible. Add to that its warmth and elegance, and it’s no surprise that the cape is a staple in so many women’s wardrobes. Wearing it somehow transports my mind back a few decades in time and makes things like chestnut picking in the woods and the obligatory hot chocolate afterwards in the nearest village, all the more special.

The past weekend I went on the hunt for a new cape to replace my old one. I scoured the entire Internet and collected my favourite, timeless capes in this edit. So anyone who’s looking for a cape to keep you warm in many cold seasons to come: don’t look any further. Here they are: the prettiest capes of fall/winter 2015-16. There’s one for every taste and every budget. I hope you’ll enjoy it! Which one is your favourite?

Such a great cape edit! I haven’t owned one in a while, but I have been loving the new styles that have been coming out. I agree, they can definitely transform any outfit to looking elegant and more put together. They are the perfect “lazy day” go to piece. Plus they are warm and comfortable. How can you get better than that?! I am really going to have to invest in a good one this season. Thanks for this wide selection of your favorites! Great post

All is very beauty, but number 1 for me is number one. Nr. 1 for me is Cape of Good Hope. If not to expensive!.

Once again you prove to be a beacon of good taste. Each and every cape you selected is so elegant. The disadvantage is, of course, that it is extremely difficult to decide which one to buy. Today I think I prefer nr. 2. But tomorrow I’m afraid I’ll have changed my mind. And the day after tomorrow… etc. On the other hand the advantage of such a rich palette of choice is that one cannot make a wrong decision. Thank you so much.

You’re right, there simply is no wrong decision. Which doesn’t mean that I’m not incredibly curious to know which cape you end up choosing. Keep me updated ;)

Cape definitely changes the look of an outfit. I wouldn’t be able to pick one from these because they are all so pretty and stylish! x
